How to Get Started
1) Make sure you have an internet connection.
2) If you wish for GameDay Payoff - Book version to be password protected, go under the Book menu and change the password. Make sure you remember your password and provide a good hint. Keep in mind, your password is case sensitive.
3) Go to Policy and carefully review your default offerings. We have provided some of the more common ones, but you may want to change them. You may always customize individual Player's settings later.
4) Make sure that the button next to the Player dropdown list is set to "Not Accepting Wagers from Any Player"
5) Go into the Player Manager and begin adding Players. Make sure that you enter their opening balance (or later in Balances) and then decide if you will be manually recording their wagers or establishing a Direct Connection with them by which they place their wagers with you through an internet connection. To use Direct Connection, your Player must also have GameDay Payoff and use the Player application. GameDay Payoff strongly recommends that you establish a Direct Connection with your Players to take full advantage of the software.
6) Once you enter Players, go back to Policy and make any adjustments that are necessary to individuals.
7) If you are taking advantage of Direct Connection with your Players (recommended), you will need to be able to broadcast lines and receive wagers. To do this, you will need to receive a signal that allows your Players to know that you are available. This signal is only identified and accepted from your invited Players, but it must be able to get in. Your Book will NOT work if you are at a location that cannot receive this signal. This may require little to no action. For more on this, see "Direct Connection Books Must Receive Signal" in the Help.
8) Before you begin taking wagers, go into the Line Monitor and set amounts for being warned and taking lines off the board for games getting out of balance. Then check the lines to make sure those are what you want to offer.
9) If you have Players taking advantage of the Direct Connection, hit the button next to the Player dropdown list and set it to "Accepting Wagers from All Players". For those Players not using a Direct Connection, enter their wagers manually by using the Record Wager screen.
10) At any time you may Go to the Wager Manager screen and view Open wagers, In Progress wagers, or Closed wagers for individuals or all. Within each there are a variety of views, filters, and sorting to obtain most any result you desire.
11) For transactions, Go to the Balances screen and record as needed.
